We are not all computer experts, prepared to spend hours or days figuring out your strange changes to the software.

I am going to give up using my Kindle and go back to the Kobo. App deleted and reinstalled, but no success. Read more s not like my operating system. I have now tried again - can't even open the app on my computer, as it apparently doe. I couldn't figure this out, so stopped using it for about 18 months. First I could not read a downloaded book because apparently the company had decided to store bought books "in the cloud". It worked OK for 3 years, then became unusable. The only trouble I have had was when I took it bushwalking, and the heat seemed to disagree with it (would not switch on). I have had my Kobo for about 5 years now.
